In view of the Forthcoming General Election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023, General Observers and DC & DEO Mon conducted a review cum preparedness meeting on pre-Poll and Poll Day with all the ROs and Sectors magistrates of Mon district on 21st February 2023 at DC Conference Hall.

During the meeting, DC & DEO Mon reminded the roles and responsibilities of the ROs and Sector Magistrates of their task for the successful conduct of the election in the constituency. He appealed to them not to be casual in Election and to be very much alert to all the situations in their own assigned area and keep them under control. “Be careful with all the machines, maintain the secrecy of the vote, and ensure none of the personnel on duty is under the influence of liquor or any intoxicant,” he added.

The Observers also remained with them to ensure the Polling Station had at least of necessary facilities such as availability and arrangement of drinking water, toilet, ramp, and power supply. They are also mindful of the road condition in the area and ensure that the Polling party reaches the designated stations on time to execute their duties. He stated that Sector magistrates should act as Election Office, and ensure free and fair in all polling processes.
