District Administration and Mahila Shakti Kandra-District Level Center for women Longleng in collaboration with Longleng District Legal Service Authority conducted orientation-cum-training program on POCSO & PCPNDT Act for Anganwadi & Asha workers on 15th February 2022 at VDB Hall, Longleng.

CDPO Longleng, Longlang Luckpan appreciated MSK-DLCW and encouraged the participants to learn and educate others as well.

             Resource person Adv. Monyei Phom, Project Asst. LDSA spoke on POCSO Act. She elaborated on different types of offenses committed towards children below 12 years of age, also punishable under section 6 of the POCSO Act. She also highlighted the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, (JJ Act) 2015. She encouraged the gathering to be more practical in the approach relating to the offenses under the prescribed law.

Resource person Adv. Panglang Phom spoke on pre-conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (REGULATION AND PREVENTION OF MISUSE) Act, 1994 & PCPNDT Amendment Act, 2002. He encouraged the gathering to be aware of such acts and also to approach LDLSA for further details concerning services provided.

An interactive session was held after the program about women-centric schemes, women issues, health & hygiene led by WWO MSK Longleng. A total of 164 Asha & Anganwadi workers attended the program. The program was chaired by Adv. Chingmei, panel lawyer LDLSA.
