The Indian Airforce carried out a special cross country flight from Ahmedabad via Alahabad with the left over Compressors and equipment for activation of much needed oxygen plant for Nagaland state, the major consignment was initially airlifted by Chandigarh based IL 76 aircraft from Delhi last week.
The consignment weighing approx 3 tons was handed over to EAC Chumukedima Er Seyie Solo coordinating officer in Dimapur airport at 1400 Hrs on 6th May 2021, which would further proceed to their designated destination at Dimapur and Mokokchung by road.
The AN- 32 medium lift transport aircraft of IAF of Russian origin was tasked to carry out the mission which belongs to 49 Squadron based at Jorhat.
The AF completed its 13 special Airlift mission in aid of State Government administration of Nagaland carrying approx 96 tons of critical Covid related equipment since the beginning of pandemic last year. It is pertinent to mention that because of smooth cohesive precision coordination carried out by State administration, Nodal officer for Airlift of State Government, Principal Director School Education, Shanavas C, Dimapur based (project office (IAF) Nagaland), Head Quarter Eastern Air Command Shillong, Air HQ (VB) New Delhi and MoD, the much needed airlift requirements by Nagaland state has been executed as per the timelines in a flawless manner.
IAF in the past has also been pro-actively committed with the requirements of state government, providing Air support in aid of civil administration during disaster management when it was effected by land slide and Forest fire.
