The Peren District Planning & Development Board meeting cum Advent Christmas 2023 was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB, Vineet Kumar at Tepuiki River, Carnival Village on 6th December.

The meeting began with the introduction of new members followed by review of last meeting minutes and discussion of agendas. Proposal for placing Jalukie valley under Nagaland Special Development Zone was discussed and forwarded to the higher ups for approval.  In regard to application for taxi permits and application for registration of society by Makaam Dimpuam Foundation, the Deputy Commissioner informed the members to discuss in the next DPDB meeting.

The Deputy Chief Minister & Chairman DPDB, T.R. Zeliang urged the Deputy Commissioner, Peren to extend the new site permit allotment deadline notification till March 2024.

ES, Zeme Baptist Church Council, Dr Rampaukupoing shared the significance of Christmas and Etwapeule Nza presented 'Christmas is here' while yuletide greetings was proposed by Deputy Chief Minister, TR Zeliang 

Later, the launching of the Winter Carnival cum Orchid Festival was held at the Carnival village. The inaugural program was graced by Deputy Chief Minister, Planning & Transformation, National Highway, T.R. Zeliang.

            The highlights of the day were, strong man competition, tug of war, cultural dances and music fest.
