Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) celebrated World Water Day 2022 at St. John Higher Secondary School, Tuensang on 22nd March 2022.

In the program, Executive Engineering, PHED Tuensang Division, Er. Kedolhuto Punyu, in his welcome address spoke on the importance of World Water Day 2022 and on the theme of World Water Day 2022.

PowerPoint presentation on the Water Quality Issues and Health impacts was presented by PHED District Chemist & District Co-ordinator, N. Sangtam. Sangtam  highlighted on the theme of World Water Day 2022, “Groundwater: making the invisible visible”; how ground water benefit the nature world  and importance of water Quality in the drinking water in the JJM as per IS 10,500:12; Causes of health hazards issues and diseases by consuming contaminated water and some remedies measure to check water quality.

A student, Sujang L, gave a speech on the topic “Conserving water for the future generation”. An essay competition on the title, “conserving water for the future generation” was also organized where Lika I bagged the first position, Ason B came in second position, and Amos Rai got the third position.

 Jal Jeevan Mission Implementation support Agency (ISA), also participated in the program.
