PHED TUENSANG DIVISION CONDUCTED SBM(G) II ODF PLUS TRAINING AT SHAMATOR AND TUENSANG
Public Health and Engineering Department, Tuensang conducted IEC Awareness and Capacity building program on Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Grameen II, on 13th April 2022 under Shamator District and Tuensang District, the program was sponsored by the WSSO & Sanitation, PHED, Kohima Nagaland.
Shamator District: Under Shamator District, 12 villages from Shamator Block WATSAN Chairman and Swachhagrahis attended the program at EBRC Hall Shamator Town
In the welcome key address Er. Imna Longchar SDO PHED Shamator, PHED, Highlighted the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission ODF Plus and its components.
District Coordinator, N.Sangtam, talked about the main objective of SBM(G) II ODF Plus components and its criteria to achieve ODF Plus Village as per the SBM(G) II as per the guideline issued by the Ministry of Jal Shakti Government of India. SBM(G) II target 2020-21-2024-25. Importance of Swachhagrahis on SBM(G)II, Solid waste management (Compost pit and Plastic waste managements) liquid waste management (Greywater management through Community soakage pit and Individual soak pit), and how the village council can use 60 % of the 15FC Fund tied grand in the water & sanitation activities.
Sangtam highlighted that the Village council should utilize a minimum of 60% or more of the 15FC and MGNREGA Fund received in the yearly grant from RD/DRDA as the tied fund at the village levels to achieve total sanitation and hygiene in the village and to achieve ODF Plus Village. During the training, Pamphlets were also distributed to the village functionary and swachhagrahis.
Sangsangnyu Block: The training was conducted at the CKS Hall, Tuensang Town. In the program Er. Lipoksangla SDO PHED spoke on the 15FC Tied fund to be used in the Sanitation related activities. And Greywater management. Fairyson Jings IEC Consultant PHED Tuensang Spoke on the following topic, ODF to ODF Plus Criteria in SBM(G) II, Importance of Swachhagrahis on SBM(G)II, Solid waste management (plastic waste management). Around 23 Villages participated in the training.
Longkhim Block: The training was conducted at the GBS Hall in Longkhim Town. In the program Sanitation and Hygiene Consultant Tsikingmong talked about Solid and Liquid waste management with the main focus on Grey water Management and Plastic waste management. Around 23 participants from 12 Villages attended the training.
