Additional Secretary IPR, Asangla Imti inaugurated the Photography exhibition cum celebration of 75th Independence Day “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” at the State Museum, Directorate of Art & Culture, Kohima on 7th October 2021. The event was organised by the Information& Public Relations Department to commemorate India’s 75 years of Independence. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. The official journey of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” commenced on 12th March, 2021 which starts a 75 week countdown to the 75th anniversary of Independence and will end post a year on 15th August, 2023. The event was attended by former Director IPR Limawati Ao, IPR officers and staff, Art and Culture officials, Kohima Press Club President, Alice Yhoshu and well wishers. The photography exhibition showcases pictures of eminent personalities who visited Nagaland over the years and important events and developments since Statehood. Photos of all tribes including the recognised tribes clad in traditional attires have been displayed for public viewing in order to promote and propagate our rich and vibrant culture. The exhibition will be on display in the State Museum till the end of Hornbill Festival 2021. This program is being organised at the State Museum with an objective for the people to see both the museum as well as the exhibition during their visit. Photos on activities held in the districts related to Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav thereby manifesting and observing the landmark of India's 75 years of Independence across the State. The State Museum will be open for public from Monday ie 11th October 2021 from 9.30 - 3.30 pm on all working days. (Esuihangle, IA)
