With the surge of Covid-19 positive cases in Kiphire town, the Kiphire District Task Force has ordered for the closure of all shops within Kiphire town after nine shopkeepers tested positive cases the previous week, and to conduct sample testing and contact tracing to prevent the spread of covid-19.

The random sample testing for the shopkeepers was conducted on 12th May and nine more positive cases were detected out of eighty six samples. In order to prevent the spread of covid-19 cases aggressive random and contact tracing has been deployed in the district.
