A review meeting of the Banuo Jamir Committee on Communitisation of Public Institutions & Services Act, 2002 was held with the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J Alam, IAS on 17th March 2022 at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima.

Banuo Jamir stated that the committee was set up via a Government notification dated 10th July 2020 to study the strength and weaknesses of the Act, to study the existing gap in the functioning of the stakeholder departments in implementation of the Act and to identify areas of concern and to suggest remedial measures for improvement in the delivery of public services and/or omission of services from preview of the Act.

She stated that extensive study in the field has been conducted with engagement of all stakeholders and departments concerned. The committee has made various observations and has flagged areas of concern and make recommendations for the way forward.

The Chief Secretary hoped that the final report of the committee will help the Government implement the Act successfully and benefit the people of the State.
