The newly constructed Sakhi One Stop Centre (OSC) Building (Near Nurses Hostel IMDH), Mokokchung was inaugurated on 6th June 2022, with Commissioner & Secretary, Dept. of Social Welfare & Administrator, NSSWB, Govt. of Nagaland, Martha R. Ritse, as the Special guest.
Delivering the inaugural speech, Martha R. Ritse thanked all the stakeholders for the dedication and support rendered in bringing the Sakhi One Stop Centre Building, Mokokchung into reality within a short time.
One-Stop Centres (OSCs) are intended to support women affected by violence, in private and public places, within the family, community, and at the workplace. It also gives holistic services (Health, psychosocial support, legal and police services) to survivors under one roof and free of cost. The Special guest urged the concerned department and all the stakeholders to create awareness by letting the people know that such a place is in the district to support women affected by violence.
Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, in his welcome address thanked the Special Guest and all the officials from kohima for their dedication in coming all the way to attend the inaugural programme. DC in his brief speech maintained that the function of Sakhi One Stop Centre is a sort of single window system for girls as it handles all the cases related to violence against women. He said women folk should not hesitate to come to the Centre for help as everything is administered by women at the centre. He asked all concerned to come together so that the Centre would function as per its name in letter and spirit.
Earlier the Special Guest unveiled the Plaque, Dedicatory Prayer was said by Associate Pastor, MTBA, Yanglo Pongen, a brief report on Sakhi-OSC Mkg. The building was presented by Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (C) Hq & Nodal Officer, Sakhi- OSC, Mokokchung, a special song was presented by Kidongkumba, benediction was pronounced by Pastor, Ngati Baptist church, Imsunaro, and the programme was chaired by Centre Administrator, Sakhi-OSC, Mokokchung, Wangshinaro Yaden.
