Under the theme “Inspiring youth, promoting sportsmanship”, the 4th Metümnyo Festival Football Championship final was held at the Metümnyo festival celebration at Sangphur Village on 8th August 2026, with S. Keoshu Yimchunger, Advisor Youth Resources & Sports (YRS) as the special guest.

            The Advisor, in his address, expressed gratitude to the Department of Youth Resources & Sports for sponsoring and uplifting the grassroot level talent hunt. He added that the main aim and objective of the Department was to reach out towards the local community through such events. He also thanked the Shamator District Football Association (SDFA) and Sangphur Village Students Union for successfully conducting the Championship. He urged all the players to work hard and one’s goal can be achieved through maintaining self-discipline.

            16 clubs registered and the final match was played between Sangphur FC and Shamatorian FC.

            The 4th Metümnyo football Championship 2026, Individual Awards were as follows: Golden Glove: Kiutong Janger (Sangphur FC), Golden boot: T. Dolun (Challenger FC), Golden Ball: Lakiumong.S.
