The SDG Coordination Centre (SDGCC), Planning and Coordination Department will be having the ‘SDG One Stop Destination’, during the Hornbill Festival from December 1-10, 2021 at Kisama Heritage Village, opposite the Church. This dedicated destination will be organised with activities aligning to SDGs such as quiz, games, drawing competitions, short film screening, pledge, and much more on different days during the festival. In addition to this, there will be a 'Green Christmas Corner' with interactive activities to generate awareness and encourage local action on celebrating Christmas in an eco-friendly and sustainable way. Participants in the various activities stand a chance to win sustainable goodie bags. The theme of all the activities will be around the SDGs- the 17 ambitious global goals that 193 member countries of the United Nations (including India) have agreed upon in 2015, which are to be achieved by 2030. The Government of Nagaland has been working towards localising and integrating the SDGs or the Global Goals since 2019. This is yet another effort towards creating more awareness and public participation on the SDGs-oriented action as well as aligning all activities to the SDGs during the Festival period.
