A skill training for rural employment was organised by Global Concepts Nagaland (GCN) in collaboration with the Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board (NKVIB) at Town Council Hall, Mon on 20th April 2021.

Deputy Commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS expressed his gratitude to Global Concepts Nagaland and NKVIB. He stressed on the importance of self-reliance and called upon the participants not to attend the training just to receive certificates but for their livelihoods. The DC requested the banks to grant loans to genuine people to enable them to start their ventures.

Chief consultant, Vikas Rao highlighted on the objective of the workshop and stated that the workshop was to help participants establish business and skill development.

The programme was chaired by NKVIB, Mon Development Officer, Nginai Phewang, while vote of thanks was delivered by executive officer, NKVIB Mon, Lukheto Sohe.

Four venues have been selected for the skill training workshop: food processing at Mon Town Council Hall, carpentry at DRDA Hall, beekeeping at NPF conference hall and toilet & laundry soap making at KU conference hall.
