As part of the 75th anniversary of Peren Township, World Environment Day was celebrated on 4th June at Peren by conducting social work involving volunteers from all the wards. The social work includes maintaining Peren road from Peren Town till Tesangki river, clearing jungles, filling up the ditches, cleaning the drainage, and planting cherry trees along the roadside.

The work was divided into six groups where members from different churches and organizations and police personnel actively took part in the social work. The machinery was provided by contractors and JSP project pvt. limited & CGR company to help the workers. E.E PWD R&B Peren also provided machines and logistics support along with manpower for road maintenance. ADC Peren also informed the public that the sound system and other necessary arrangements for the program for the 7th of June will be provided by the Peren District Music Society (PDMS) furthermore ADC has informed that a mass social work involving all the citizens of Peren Town will be held on 7th of June 2022 which will be followed by District Level program where results of the cleanest ward competition would also be announced.

Meanwhile, Zeliang Students' Union Nagaland (ZLSU) in collaboration with Peren District Legal Services Authority conducted a plantation drive as part of the pre-celebration programme of World Environment Day at Ngwalwa & Heningkunglwa mid point on 4th June 2022.
