Advisor, Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of Nagaland, Imnatiba inaugurated the District Soil Testing Laboratory (STL) in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS and other dignitaries on 26th January, 2022 at District Soil and Water Conservation Office (DSCO) Jalukie, Peren. It was jointly funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Govt. of India and Govt. of Nagaland.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Imnatiba said Nagaland State is endowed with rich natural resources and 70% of the State population depends on agri-allied sectors and for any State to move ahead, the people need to depend on their own resources. While speaking, the Advisor also mentioned that since the inception of the Statehood, Nagaland State has been receiving funds from various Ministries in Agri-allied sector and the vision of the Ministry is to make the farmers self-reliant. He also encouraged the department to provide best support and service to the farming community in order to produce successful farmers from the district.
In his speech, he further added, Peren District is blessed with rich fertile land and with the inauguration of Soil Testing Laboratory (STL), which is a new initiative, he hoped that it will add in making Nagaland State a rising economy at par with the other parts of the country.
Earlier, unveiling of Plague was done by the special guest, he also inspected the equipments installed in the laboratory. DSCO, Medovikho Nakhro gave the technical report while the programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by SDO (SC) Peren, Suiyiheile.
