The mock drill exercise in Chumoukedima was done by projecting a real-life situation. No prior traffic arrangements were made and the rescue teams were also assigned their tasks on the spot from the staging areas, where all the resources were kept ready. As soon as the siren sounded, DC Chumoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, IAS called for an Emergency Operation Centre located at the CTC Office and briefed all the officials and stakeholders for carrying out their tasks in the staging area, while DC was the Responsible Officer and SDO was the Incident Commander.
The initial responders including the District Officers assembled at the staging area with resources where teams of police rescued the minor injuries followed by NDRF who rushed to presumed sites for assessment followed by search, rescue operation, and relief.
The mock drill exercise was conducted in two locations, DC Office and CTC Office. It was successfully conducted in association with different concerned departments like the medical team, Police, NDRF, Traffic and CTYO volunteers, RD, Agri, Fire services, etc. Later, the exercise concluded with a debriefing session held at Emergency Operation Centre, CTC.
