A 33/11 KV 2X10 MVA distribution Sub-station at Forest Colony, Dimapur, was inaugurated by Advisor Power, Tovihoto Ayemi on 22nd March 2021.
Tovihoto Ayemi, who graced the occasion as special guest, said that the newly inaugurated Sub-station was a long awaited project the Power Department and the public. He said that the new station will be relieving around 40% of the load from Metha Sub-station and will cater to the need of densely populated areas. He appreciated all officers and staff involved and also the contractor for successful completion of the project.
Advisor also said that the PDA government under the abled leadership of Chief Minister many developmental activities have been taken up for the welfare of the people especially in power sector. Stating that Power Department despite being faced with many challenges and hurdles, do not get the deserved appreciation, Ayemi said that the power department may be the only department which does not sleep while trying to supply adequate power supply to the people.
Advisor who also launched the pre-paid meters said that 10,000 prepaid meters are expected to be installed in Dimapur in few months’ time and will slowly change the old meter system to smart metering as also desired by the union Government to have smart metering all over the country, stating that Nagaland will be no exception if at all want continuous power supply.
SE (Revenue) Power, Er. Lobosang Jamir, in his technical report mentioned that the long felt need 2X10 MVA 33/11 KV New Sub-station has been constructed under the Integrated Power Development Scheme, Government of India initiated Central Scheme, at the cost of Rs. 9.16 crores. He also informed the electricity in Dapur Urban and suburban areas under the Dimapur electricity Division covering 72,956 consumer, is catered from 9 Power Sub Stations scattered at various strategic load centers with 117.50 MVA installed capacity and the Forest SS is the fastest major project executed.
In his report, he also mentioned that the new substation will be relieving a significant portion of the load from Metha SS and will ensure stable power supply and lesser frequency of unscheduled power outages to the citizens residing in the main town areas where business establishments will be able to transact efficiently and electricity revenue will also improve.
