            Special guest and Advisor for Information & Public Relations and Village Guards, S. Keoshu Yimkhiung said only through a peaceful atmosphere and unity a society can be developed. He said this during the Tikhir Tribe recognition day on 2nd April at the public ground, Kiusam town. The Advisor attended the celebration program in place of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio as he could not attend the program due to bad weather conditions.

The Advisor while addressing the gathering shared the long struggle for Tikhir tribe recognition and Shamator district up-gradation. He said the aspiration of the people was fulfilled after 40 years of struggle through unity and mutual agreement between the two tribes of Tikhir and Yimkhiung. Keoshu urged the gathering to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and unity to develop a good relationship with neighboring tribes to progress.

President TTC, K. Topan highlighted the brief history of Tikhir. Short speeches were delivered by President ENPO, R. Tsapikiu; Commissioner & Secretary to Governor, Mhabemo Yanthan; NBOCWWB, Kekhire Yhome; 14 Tribes Convenor, K.T. Vilie; Former Parliament Secretary, Heno; DC, Kiphire and DC, Shamator.

Other highlights of the program included - Tikhir traditional kitchen, a cultural presentation by Shamator village, Pokphur village, Anatonger village, and Thonoknyu village. A Folk song was presented by T.Lemrimong, a cultural song by Tikhir Women, Kiphire, war dance by Mutonger village.

The welcome address was delivered by Advisor TTC, Kiusumong Tikhir while a vote of thanks was given by General Secretary TTC, W. Tothong Philip. The programme was chaired by General Secretary, TGOA, T.L Kiusumong Tikhir.
