To effectively manage disasters, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority in collaboration with Home Guards, Civil Defence, and SDRF with support from National Disaster Management Authority has organized training on Emergency Operation and Search & Rescue for AAPDA-MITRA ‘Friends-in-Disaster’ and Community First Responder. The training commenced on the 15th of May 2022 and will conclude on the 16th of August 2022 at Central Training Institute (CTI), Toluvi, Dimapur.
The AAPDA-MITRA training is an in-house training for 12 days. The training aims to empower the community volunteer with the skills they would need to respond to their community’s immediate needs in the aftermath of a disaster, thereby, enabling them to undertake basic relief and rescue tasks during emergencies.
Till date volunteers from Kiphire, Phek, Longleng, and Peren have completed their training.
