With an aim to promote a healthy and clean ecosystem for the new upcoming Medical College in Phriebagei, Kohima, the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change donated 3,000 tree samplings to be planted in and around the Medical College premises.
In recognition of the donation, a tree plantation activity program was held on 6th August, 2021 at the site of Nagaland Medical College, Phriebageito. Minister of Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom lauded and appreciated the Forest Department for the magnificent gesture for the support and promotion of the ecosystem. He also acknowledged that the small step towards green ecosystem is not only for the Medical College but for everyone.
Along with the Minister, S. Pangnyu Phom and Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Amardeep, S. Bhatia, IAS, a host of senior officials of the Directorate took part in the tree sapling plantation drive.
The programme was attended by Dr. I. Talitemsula Jamir (Mission Director), Dr.Visasieu Kire (Director), Dr.Thorusie Katiry (Director), Dr. Theyiephrezo (Director) and other officials from the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare.
