A mega tree plantation drive under the theme "One Person One tree" was held at Pfutsero sub-division in commemoration of World Environment Day on 4th June 2022. It was organized by Phek District Planning and Development Board in collaboration with National Highway and Infrastructure Development Co-operation Ltd (NHIDCL).

The plantation was flagged off by Chairman DPDB and MLA, Kezhienyi Khalo. The MLA said every year trees in large numbers are felled around the world which causes scarcity of water and temperature rise. He lauded the gathering for their active participation in the plantation drive and said that the trees planted will help the younger generations.

Around two lakh tree saplings were planted throughout the Phek district during the mega tree plantation drive.
