Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda visited Kiphire aspirational district on 26th April 2022 and held a meeting at DC's Conference Hall, Kiphire.

In his address, Munda said that there should be all round development stating that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has set up Aspirational District with an aim to develop most backward districts in the country for overall progress.

Union Minister urged district Officers to work hard to get good rank in Aspirational District for development in the district. He also highlighted on the importance of Health and Education sector.

Power point presentations were given by Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), District Welfare Officer, Executive Engineer, PHED, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineer, Water Resources, Project Director, DRDA, District Agriculture Officer, District Sericulture Officer and District Administration.

Minister for Soil & Water Conservation and Geology & Mining, V. Kashiho Sangtam shared grievances faced by the people of Kiphire District and appealed for more development.

Earlier the Union Minister also visited ongoing construction of Eklavya Model Residential School and laid the foundation stone for EKRS for Kiphire district. The project is funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India and implemented by the Department of Tribal Affairs Govt of India. He also visited the ongoing construction of ITI started in July 2020 and to be completed by 2022.

At the arrival of Union Minister, DEF, Kiphire displayed guard of honour and was received by the District Administration, Tribal hohos of Sangtam, Tikhir, Sumi, government Officials, DBs, GBs, BJP party workers at helipad ground Kiphire.

Union Minister was accompanied by Joint Secretary MoTA, PPS and APS to Union Minister, AK, Singh, Commissioner & Secretary Tribal Affairs Department and other dignitaries. The program was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, T. Wati Aier and welcome address was delivered by SDO(C), James Qulu.
