Union Minister of State, Electronics & IT, Skill Development, Government of India, Rajeev Chandrasekhar on his visit to Industrial Training Institution Kohimaon 17th September 2021 inaugurated the Entrepreneurship Development Centre at the ITI Complex Kohima.
In his address the Union Minister, Rajeev said that his visit to Nagaland was to meet the students, the faculties and the people who run the institutions that are changing lives and see their destiny for the future fortunes. He added that his mission given to him by the Prime Minister of India was to take the responsibility to see and give the best, so that the young IT students have a brighter future besides all the adversities, negativities and challenges and the goal was to see that North East India is developed and the youths of the North East be given the opportunities to be skilled and trained to avail job opportunities.
He also said that in this post COVID world, India is going to play a much bigger role in terms of manufacturing, Information Technology and electronic and the things required for this role are more youngsters who are skilled, trained, motivated and getting into these jobs as professionals or entrepreneurs. As a result to prepare them for these roles, he said the ITI network is doing its best in preparing the youngsters for a career. Rajeev also said that every nation, country or state in the world that have gone through challenges but always come out more stronger, and determined to success and describing Nagas as skilled and hardworking, he encouraged the state to take up investment in the state as he assured that the ministry will stand shoulder to shoulder with the state and be true partners in proposals for the future of the youngsters and the state government.
MLA and Advisor Industries & Commerce, Labour and Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Nagaland, Imnatiba in his speech described the Union Minister of State for Electronic & IT and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar as a successful entrepreneur and mentioned how the Minister was declared by the India Today Magazine as the 41st most successful person in India in 2017.He added that to have a person of his caliber really give hope to the young Naga entrepreneurs. Imnatiba also highlighted the present situation like the Indo-Naga political problem and cited the present context of Industries in Nagaland like the Tuli paper mill and the sugar mill which has come to a standstill. He mentioned that the export promotion centre which was set up with world class facilities has also fail to attract investors which has led to overburden the Government with unemployment problem. He therefore requested the union Minister to take personal intervention of his department to deal with the problems face by the Nagas.
During the programme, the Union Minister, Rajeev Chandrasekhar also presented certificate and trophy to Sentibendang Jamir who secured the first rank in the All India Trade Test for Craftsmen Training Scheme, 2020.
Others who spoke on the occasion also included Director, IIE, Guwahati, Dr. Abhijit Sharma and Director, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Chiden Yaden. The programme was chaired by Commissioner & Secretary, Labour& Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, R. Asenla Keitzar, IAS.
Earlier, the Minister of State, Electronics & IT, Skill Development, Rajeev Chandrasekhar planted a tree sapling at the Industrial Training Institution, Kohima premise and unveiled the Entrepreneurship Development Centre plaque in the present of MLA and Advisor Industries & Commerce, Labour and Employment, Skill development & Entrepreneurship Nagaland, Imnatiba.
