In a congratulatory letter to the selected volunteers of the South Asian Cross-Country Championships and 56th National Cross-Country Championships, Abu Metha, Co-Convenor, Organising Committee said it is an honour for all the people involved in organising the event since it is going to be one of the Nagaland's biggest sport events and one of the most significant events in the history of Nagaland.
According to Metha, the backbone of all the major sports events in the world is the volunteers. He reminded the volunteers not only to assist in the execution of their given responsibilities but also an ambassador for India and Nagaland, he said “please keep in mind that we are serving the nation and the cause of the Olympic movement.”
He expressed appreciation to the volunteers on behalf of the Organising Committee led by the Convenor, Neiphiu Rio Chief Minister of Nagaland, for volunteering and contributing towards the success of the historic event. He thanked them for being a part of the team and for their contributions in the endeavor to write history together.
