As part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, North East Festival, a walkathon was flagged off by EAC Dimapur Sadar, Nukshi Matong on 2nd May 2022.

During the event, two senior citizens, namely G. Kami Rongmei and Yanbemo Humtsoe, aged 67 and 59 respectively, took part in the event, along with the students from the Christian Higher Secondary School and Holy Cross School. The two senior citizens showed that fitness is a must for everyone to keep the body healthy.

The programme was chaired by Youth Resources Officer Dimapur, Khriekethoü Kense, The walkathon commenced from Circular Road (City Tower) via Tajen Ao Road with the finish point at the DC office junction.
