The Wokha District Task Force (DTF) for COVID-19 held a consultative meeting on 16th November 2021 at the DC’s Conference hall, under the chairmanship of ADC, Wokha, Lankonsen T Tsanglao. The meeting was held in regard to the direction given by the Prime Minister of India to implement the schedule “Har Ghar Dastak Campaign” of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and to effectively manage and accelerate the vaccination coverage of 1st and 2nd dose in the District.

To increase the vaccination percentage in the district, different officer in-charge were designated at different circles, blocks and villages to sensitize and spread awareness about the importance of vaccination, said the chairman and urged all officers to give concentrated effort in motivating and convincing the people who are yet to take the vaccine in order to increase the vaccination percentage in the district.

ADC, Wokha said the pandemic has concerned everyone and they have given their best from the beginning to fight the pandemic and called for more support from everyone and continue to combat the virus.

Dy. CMO, Dr. Zuben Kikon while presenting on the COVID scenario in the district said, as of now as per the portal report the district has so far vaccinated 68% of the district population, and added that very shortly household survey will begin to study about the eligibility and to take stock of the status who are yet to get the vaccine. He also states that as per data, numbers of positive cases and death rate in the district shows most of them are un-vaccinated and urged the public to avail and get vaccinated.

Chief Medical Officer, Wokha said, it is the responsibility of each and every one of us in spreading awareness to break the chain about public resistance in taking the vaccine and further stated that latter it might become compulsorily where we cannot visit places, and urged all to get vaccinated and tested for the benefit of all.
