To experience the different significant locations and to understand the needs of the public of the area, Wokha District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at Changpang on 18th February 2022. Changpang is approximately eighty (80) Kms away from the district headquarter in the southern part of Wokha district. Changpang is synonymous with Oil and Naturel Gas and its related activities in our state, the state government has also selected Changpang as one of the Aspirational Blocks of the state. SDO (C) HQ, Chonpenthung Ezung chaired the meeting.  ADC Bhandari, Ranjit Sing IAS was also welcomed to the Board.

Advisor Information Technology & Communication, Science & Technology, New & Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon who is also the Chairman of Wokha DPDB said conducting the board meeting there was to understand the requirements of the people of the area, he also thanked the village council and the people for hosting the meeting.

Following agendas were discussed during the meeting, Upgradation of Sungro Primary Health Centre (PHC) to Community Health (CHC), Changpang Sub-Centre to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Amphuto Sub-Centre to Primary Health Centre (PHC) as submitted by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Wokha, Dr. Tumchobeni and Senior Medical Officer (SMO) Bhandari Dr. Caroline.

The board discussed the technical report submitted by the medical department and based on fulfillment on the geographical isolation and other aspects as per the technical report the board proposed and recommended to the government for consideration.

Mmhonlumo said COVID pandemic has opened the eyes of the government and it is focused to upgrade our health infrastructure and also ensuring that as per the population and area, medical officers and health workers have been posted in different locations to address the pandemic, he added that within Bhandari constituency itself, the government has upgraded two sub Centres, and the three centers also deserve for consideration. Regarding the construction of the road from Champang to foothill, the Chairman stated that the proposal had already been submitted for inclusion in the second phase under PMGSY scheme. For shifting of EAC Hq to the permanent campus and posting of separate EAC, Kikon stated that the government is conducting major exercise to post EAC to all EAC Hq and Chanpang being in proximity with Assam State, the Government is planning to post SDO (C) cum Border Magistrate in the area.
While speaking on the aspirational blocks, Advisor Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan said, it is a historic event for the people of the area for conducting DPDB meeting there, Changpang block was declared as an aspirational block last year by the state government considering the socio-economic backwardness of the area, he urged all the departments in the district to give special focus to formulate a plan to implement various developmental activities in this particular area.

Mhathung also assured that the department of horticulture will construct one (1) packhouse and three (3) Dripped irrigation units in Changpang area.

The department of horticulture, land resources, fishery and aquatic, agriculture, sericulture, V&AH, water resources (irrigation) highlighted their activities.

Mmhonlumo said he will do his best to address the memorandum submitted by the area during the meeting.

On the present COVID status of the district Chief Medical Officer Wokha, Dr. Tumchobeni said so far eight thousand eight hundred and nine (8809) COVID tests were done and the positivity rate is 9.8 percent.
