World Blood Donor's Day was observed at Zunheboto on 14th June 2022 at Town Hall Zunheboto under the theme, “Donating blood is an act of solidarity, join the effort and save lives”.

The programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto Rahul Bhanudas Mali as the special guest.  Speaking on the occasion he said that as a human being everybody at some point will need blood. Blood donation is very important and live saving. Blood donors also have many health benefits by donating blood and it is not necessary to donate blood frequently, even once a year is enough. He requested and encouraged the students present to get tested at district hospital to know their blood groups.

With respect to blood bank in the district he requested the CSOs to work together and set up a proper blood bank in the district. He thanked the Green Club for organising the event and assured full cooperation of the district administration in the future as well.

The event was organised by Green Club Zunheboto and DAPCU Zunheboto in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Zunheboto district branch.
