Longleng District Covid-19 Task force along with district administration, police, village guards, NGOs and civil societies have warmly welcomed and receive the first arrival of 14 stranded person from different states of the country to Longleng Town on 19th May 2020 at around 12:15 Am.
The arrival of stranded people were received at Lempong Junction where a short pray program was led by the Executive Secretary, Phom Baptism Christian Association (PBCA) Tialemba Phom. Later after completing necessary screening and registration the returnees were taken to quarantine center at Phom Lempong, school.
The Longleng District Covid-19 Task Force headed by the Deputy Commissioner M. Shayung Phom has lauded and acknowledged the voluntary service and assistance rendered by Phom Baptism Christian Association, especially the woman wing, the Phomla Hoichem and its unit and Longleng Town Students union (LTSU) who voluntarily committed to cook, serve and deliver food to the returnees, security personnel, Health worker and drivers during the time of quarantine period. District Task force also tied up with NSRLM Longleng for fresh vegetables.
Meanwhile the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng has informed that visit of Family/ Friends/ Relatives or any other person other than the authorised personal to the institutional quarantine center is strictly prohibited. Necessary action will be initiated against those falling to comply with the order under section 188 of the Indian penal code it added.
Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Longleng Dr. Lhouvizotuo Belho has issued an official order informing its citizens that "No operation will be taken up in the district hospital Longleng unless complete screening and tasting of Covid-19 is done both for emergency and routine till further order.
These order has been issued by the authorities to contained and control the spread of Novel Coronavirus.
