The 2nd Inter-Departmental Sports meet Longleng closing ceremony and in commemoration of the statehood Day Celebration, a programme was held at Multi-purpose hall Longleng on 1st December 2022 with Deputy Commissioner Longleng, Dharam Raj, IAS as special guest.
Deputy Commissioner congratulated all the departments for participating in the three-day event. He said the significance of this sports meet is to create a sense of cooperation and a sense of competitiveness among Departments and staff. "It's a great platform where we could get to know new officers and employees from different departments," he added.
The Officers Club will be organizing more sports meets in the years to come and hope that the forthcoming sports meet will be a grand success.
Congratulating the Naga people for the Statehood Day Celebration on 1st December, the DC said the day must be celebrated with feelings of oneness and brotherhood and be proud of Nagas's unique identity and culture.
DC also handed over the prizes to the winners.
In badminton Men's doubles, Trongdipa Tongpi Sangtam and S. Benching from DCs office bagged the first, while L. Chingdam Mukho and O. Apong Phom from the DC office bagged the second.
In the women's category, Longkoi S and L. Bandangnaro Phom from DEO won first while Temsunaro Phom and Nyemphe Phom from the DC office came second. Table tennis Men’s, Enyu Phom from the DC office bagged first, while Emanuel Chen from Social Welfare came second. Ahani Zhimo from (DEO) won first in the women's category while Ainyu came second. Men’s carrom doubles, Tiameren Phom and M. Toshi Phom from the DC office came first and H. Heipong and K.Chingnyu from LRD bagged second. Women's carrom, B. Hanmei, and S. Moivau Phom from CMO bagged first while Ayung and Yalisenla from MS Office came second. Air rifle shooting men's category, Sunglang from H&FW bagged first, and Chubaonen from DEF came second. Women's category, Ainyu of DEO bagged first and Angoi from Horticulture came second. In Chinese checkers, B.Henmei from CMO secured first and H. Nyemphe from DC Office came second. In Tug of war, DEF and SDEO came first and second.
Acknowledgment certificates were also given to LDBA, DEF Longleng, and DBs.
