Minister of Tourism & Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along while congratulating the passing out students who have successfully completed the course in different disciplines said that having a certificate is not the end but just a beginning in learning more and to strive for the best outcome in life. The Minister said this while he was addressing as the Guest of Honour during the 38th Convocation of Indra Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre, Kohima, Nagaland held at Capital Convention Centre, Kohima on 5th March 2025.

Imna Along encouraged the students to be a game changer in the society rather than being parasites. He also urged the graduating students to be truthful to oneself and bring back those qualities of honesty, hard work and hospitalities that our forefathers have practiced long before amongst the Nagas, and lead the society in the right direction.

Earlier, while giving the welcome address and Director's Report, Regional Director, Dr. Premila Swamy D informed that under Kohima Regional Centre, 220 (UG & PG) candidates will be receiving Certificate out of 914 eligible students, comprising of 711 Masters Degrees, 155 Bachelor's Degrees, 31 Diplomas and 17 Certificate programs. Dr. Mayonmi Shimray, Assistant Regional Director proposed the vote of thanks.  Experiences were also shared by the IGNOU students and a special number was favoured by Assistant Registrar, IGNOU, Ato Tetso,

All together 914 students in various programs passed out in 2025. The main convocation function was held at IGNOU Headquarter, New Delhi and live telecast of the countrywide programme was broadcasted through Gyandarshan, Youtube, Facebook, etc. Commissioner & Secretary, Higher Education, Rajesh Soundararanjan and Director, Higher Education, V. Lovitoly Sema and officials from IGNOU were part of the convocation program.
