Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs, K.G. Kenye, while making a statement under Rule 55 and Rule 54 during the Eighth Session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly at NLA Hall in Kohima on March 12, 2026, commended the Leader of the House and Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio for his efforts to promote the MSME sector in the state.
Referring to the earlier discussion on the topic “Critical Role of MSMEs in Improving Nagaland’s Economy,” Kenye noted that the House held a constructive and healthy debate on the importance of MSMEs, during which several pertinent issues affecting the growth of the sector in the state were raised.
He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister on behalf of the people of Nagaland for responding positively to the concerns highlighted during the discussion. Kenye acknowledged the Chief Minister’s announcement of an increase of ₹20 lakh to the existing ₹2 crore allocated under the LADP fund for all legislators. The additional allocation, he said, would be utilized exclusively to promote MSME activities within their respective constituencies.
Kenye stated that the enhancement of the LADP fund would have a meaningful impact on the lives of many people in the state and help address the immediate needs of the working class. He added that one of the major challenges faced by the MSME sector has been the lack of adequate funding, which he believes will now be partly addressed through the increased LADP allocation, thereby directly benefiting people in rural areas.
In conclusion, Kenye thanked and congratulated Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio for his vision and commitment to the people, describing the initiative as a significant step forward for the overall development of the state.
