The Department of Horticulture in a press release stated that Air Cargo facility at Dimapur Airport was officially flagged off by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on 2 March, 2021. The release added that launching of Air Cargo Service in Dimapur Airport was the outcome of the persistent efforts put forward for more than a year by the Officials of Airport Authority of India, Dimapur along with the Department of Horticulture, Government of Nagaland.
As on 31St March 2021, a total of 4810 kg of perishable commodities have been dispatched through Air Cargo from Dimapur Airport. Both Air India and Indigo Airlines have agreed to carry 2000 kg each per day as cargo from Dimapur Airport to different destinations within the Country.
