“Today, the High Powered Committee on COVID-19 held its meeting under the Chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The meeting was attended by the Co-Chairman, the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation, Hon’ble Minister for Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, the Members of the High Powered Committee – the Hon’ble Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs and the Hon’ble Advisor for Information Technology, Science & Technology and Non Renewable Energy.
The High Powered Committee reviewed the overall COVID-19 situation in the State and it received briefings from the Health Department and the Home Department.
As on today, the total number of positive cases in the State stands at 280. Out of this, the total active cases are 139, and 141 have recovered. All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 139 active cases are asymptomatic.
As per the distribution of the 280 cases by age, there are 4 cases between 0-17 years, 269 cases between 18-44 years, 5 cases between 45-64 years and 2 cases between 65-74 years. As per the distribution of gender, there are 195 males and 85 females.
As of today at 4pm, a total of 9,665 samples have been sent for testing. Results of 8,158 samples have been received and 1507 samples are awaited. Out of the 9,665 samples, 6833 samples have been received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), till today and a total of 5613 samples have been tested and out of which 221 samples have tested positive.
A total of 6768 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.”
