BRIEFING ON COVID-19 ON 25th MAY 2020 FOR NAGALAND BY NEIBA KRONU, HON’BLE MINISTER, PLANNING & COORDINATION, LAND REVENUE AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS

The full text is as follows :

“My dear Citizens of Nagaland,

Good evening,

Today, unfortunately three (3) persons in the State have been tested positive for COVID-19. All the three positive cases had travelled from Chennai to Dimapur in the Special Train which had reached Dimapur on 22nd of May 2020.  They are now undergoing treatment at COVID-19 Hospitals and the condition of all the three patients are stable. The Contact tracing is being carried out actively so as to prevent further spreading of the infection.

As of 3 P.M. today, total of 1331 samples have been tested. The results of 1046 samples have been received out of which 3 as mentioned above are positive. The results for 285 samples are awaited.   

Today, a total of 1783 persons have been screened and a total of 2831 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.

A total of  11, 987 citizens have signed up in the nCOVID-19 Nagaland – Visitors App since 23rd March 2020 and in the last 14 days 2286  persons have submitted their travel self declaration. At present 1446 persons are being digitally monitored through the nCOVID-19 Nagaland – Visitors App.

The mortal remains of Late Ms.NchineileuDisuang, who had boarded the Special train at Gurugram, Haryana for Dimapur, and had passed away in the train on the 22nd of May 2020 reached her native village Beisumpuikam under Peren District today. Her body was taken down at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and after going through the required formalities, with the help from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the dead body could be brought to Nagaland in an ambulance provided by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The Special Train from Gurugram, Haryana reached Dimapur today at 10.30 A.M.

I appeal to all, not to panic, and at the same time, continue to be cautious and follow the safety guidelines issued by the Government from time to time. Please refrain from spreading rumours and let us not stigmatize or discriminate any infected person, their families and frontline workers but continue to support them.”
