BRIEFING ON COVID-19 ON 5th JULY 2020 FOR NAGALAND BY PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, HOME

The full text is as follows:

“As on today, the total number of positive cases in the State stands at 590. Out of this, the total active cases are 359, and 231 have recovered. All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, 358 active cases are asymptomatic and 1 active case is in mild category.

Till date, a total of 13,805 samples have been tested. The results of 12,819 samples have been received. Out of the total of 13, 805 samples, 8, 466 samples have been tested at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), out of which 451 samples tested positive. At the BSL-2 lab at CIHSR, Dimapur, 550 samples have been tested, out of which 12 tested positive.

In addition a total of 7,192 samples have been tested by Truenat, out of which 207 samples tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. Further 6, 835 samples have tested negative

A total of 3, 968 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.
