BRIEFING ON COVID-19 ON 7th OF OCTOBER 2020 FOR NAGALAND BY PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, HOME

The Full Text is as Follows:

“A total of 53 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected today - 8 in Kohima, 37 in Dimapur, 1 in Mokokchung, 1 in Phek and 6 in Peren. The total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 6,715.

Out of the 6,715 positive cases, the total recoveries so far are 5,444. The active cases are 1,194 and there have been 12 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,142 active cases are asymptomatic, 41 active cases are mild, 6 active cases are moderate, 1 active case is severe, 2 active cases are with oxygen and 2 active cases are on ventilators.

Further, out of 6,715 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are: 3,153 cases of Armed Forces/ Police, 1,535 cases of Returnees, 1,666 cases of Traced Contacts and 361 cases of Frontline Workers.

A total of 53,421 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 52,262 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 29,320 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 29,230 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test 2,068 samples have been tested”.
