The Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, IAS on 30th September 2020 has informed that with the Election Commission of India (ECI) on 29th September 2020 announcing the schedule for holding bye-election to fill the casual vacancies in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 14- Southern Angami- I (ST) AC and 60- Pungro- Kiphire (ST) AC, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in entire Kohima district except for the areas under Kohima Municipal Council other than Ward No. 5,Kitsubozou (Chotobosti), and in the entire Kiphire district, which will be in force till the completion of the election process. Regarding this the release of funds under the MPs’/ MLAs’ Local Area Development Scheme will be subject to restrictions as per the ECI order.
