The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Chumoukedima has issue a general information of all concerned that the Election Commission of India has taken the following important decisions with regard to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), 2026:

No physical hearing for persons issued notices for being unmapped / logical discrepancies: The Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit house-to-house of such electors for collection of documents and upload the same in ECINET for decision by ERO. Such electors need not be called to ERO/AERO office for hearing. Only in exceptional cases as decided by ERO, hearing will be held, preferably online. Any adult family member can be authorized by the elector to attend hearing on their behalf.

Help Desk for vulnerable sections: District Election Officer will create adequate help desks / special camps for people living in night shelters, laborers, poor and homeless for facilitation of enrolment.

Declaration in Form-6 upheld: The declaration attached to Form-6 for SIR has been upheld by the Supreme Court. For non-SIR period, Forms as per Registration of Electors Rules, 1960 will be used.

Enrolment of left out electors: Any person whose name was left out during SIR or any young / first time voter can apply to the concerned ERO for inclusion under continuous updation. All EROs/AEROs/BLOs have been directed to facilitate the same through special drive.
