In view of the Bye Election to the 14th Southern Angami- I Assembly Constituency and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, regarding preventive action to ensure of peaceful, free and fair Poll during the elections and for preserving public peace and safety, Gregory Thejawelie DC and District Magistrate, Kohima has directed all the licensed arm holders to deposit their arms and ammunition to the nearest Police Stations on or before 19th October 2020. 

The Order also added that the arms and ammunitions deposited will be kept in Police custody till one Week after the declaration of result. The Officer in charge of respective police stations will issue receipt to each depositor and also maintain proper records and safe custody of the arms. Non-Compliance with this Order will lead to cancellation of arm license and other penal action as per relevant section of law.
