Deputy Commissioner Phek, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS has notified that there shall be a complete ban on sale and use of fire crackers in the district from 13th November 2020 till 31st January 2021 in the interest of public health safety as it releases harmful chemicals which have severe impact on the respiratory health of vulnerable group and such pollutants further may prove hazardous for recovered as well as active COVID-19 patients.

Any person found violating the order shall be punished under relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and other relevant laws.
