In view of the declared Lockdown to control the Pandemic COVID-19 by the State Government it is necessary to include the services of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary services to ensure availability of livestock health care services and food commodities of livestock origin identified as essential requirement, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Service has notified that all related facilities including production units & dairy processing plants shall remain functional as per the list appended herewith under the following categories.

  1. All Veterinary Hospitals, Veterinary Dispensaries, Veterinary Health Centre’s, Laboratories, Disease Diagnostics & Quarantine Check Posts including Private Veterinary Clinics and Pharmacies within the jurisdiction of Nagaland State shall remain functional during the lock down period as per exception provided under clause (3) of Guideline under reference.
  2. All Livestock & Poultry Farming operations both under Government & Private sector shall be continued during the lock down period as per exception provided at clause (4) (l) of Guideline under reference.
  3. Animal Feed Plants both under Government & Private sector including Transportation/Inter-state movement of animal feed & fodder being essential item shall remain operational as per exception covered at clause (6) of Guideline under reference.
  4. All Dairy Processing Plants shall remain operational ensuring procurement from producer farmers and smooth supply of Milk & Milk Products to consumers as per provided exception at clause (5) (a) of Guideline.

All concerned functionaries and personnel as at Annexure A.B & C (Enclosed) are therefore, requested to discharge their responsibility with the strictest adherence to personal hygiene/workplace hygiene and safety as per guideline prescribed by WHO and the regulations of the State Government during the COVID-19 Lock-down period. 

Except in the dispensation of their duties, the functionaries are advised to strictly desist from misuse of movement other than in their assigned area of work/route which may invite appropriate action under the present diktats in force.

This notification is issued adhering to the Consolidated Guideline as notified by the Ministry of Animal Husbandry & Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India and the approval of the Chief Secretary, Nagaland, Kohima vide Email Dated 31-03-20.
