The new Chairman of Dimapur District Planning and Development Board, MLA Moatoshi urged the officers for inculcating civic sense amongst the general public in order to keep the city clean. Addressing the first DPDB meeting after bifurcation of Dimapur district on 3rd June 2022, Moatoshi while reminding that the officers posted at Dimapur were the privileged ones, exhorted the board members to work diligently by contributing through action and verbal inputs over and above their normal duties for the betterment of Dimapur. Dubbing Dimapur as the most happening district in terms of floods, clogged drains, lacking of civic sense by the general public etc, Moatoshi expressed hope that with collective efforts, the face of Dimapur could be changed and sought collective suggestions and welcomed positive criticisms.

In the meeting, Moatoshi also proposed for purchasing a truck mounted with street sweeping machine through the common pool fund. The Chairman also suggested for construction of more toilets through Swacch Bharat scheme.

Chairing the meeting, DC Dimapur personally thanked all the members/ Heads of Offices under Dimapur district for being supportive in all the DPDB related activities and advised them to continue to render their best services and to set an example to all the DPDBs.

CMO Dimapur highlighted in brief about the COVID-19 scenario and vaccination status of the district.

Other agenda of the day included recommendation for upgradation and shifting of some schools. Further, the members also recommended the proposal for opening of few new schools and also Grant-in-Aid for St. John Higher Secondary Residential School, Indisen village, Dimapur. Proposals for registration of few societies were also recommended by the board members. LADP 2022-23 schemes for Dimapur I, II and III were also recommended by the Board since all the proposals were in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Planning Department.
