Wokha District Task Force for COVID-19 vaccination, Routine immunization and IPPI 2020 held a meeting on 8th December 2020 at DC conference hall.
Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DTFI, Wokha Orenthung Lotha chaired the meeting where the following agenda were discussed. Head count of beneficiaries for COVID-19 and routine immunization, National Day for Polio to be held on 17th January 2021 and for improving routine immunization. District Planning Officer (DPO), RCH/VIP member Secretary DTFI, Wokha, Dr.Khelito Zhimomi, said that on head count of beneficiaries for COVID-19 and Routine immunization, the GOI has started preparation for introduction of COVID-19 Vaccine and as per the guideline the vaccine will be first prioritized for Health care workers followed by other front line workers and age groups. She said in order to carry out COVID-19 vaccination campaign successfully proper enumeration of beneficiaries list is essential and for this our State as well as our district has started collecting the bio-data of HCWs, facility sites, logistics for vaccine storage equipments. She added that at the district level one main challenge is to go house to house head count survey by ASHAs in every village and AWWs in Urban areas the time line for this exercise is December 2020 and January 2021.
On National immunization (IPPI) Day for Polio, she said IPPI is to be held on 17th January 2021 and for this a micro planning has been initiated and all children in the age group of 0-5 years will be administered Oral Polio vaccine. She said that the target for the district is 11,337 and will be set up 200 hundred vaccination booths. She has urged all the stake holders to create awareness and urged all the line department to assist for successful campaign.
On Routine immunization (RI) she stated for improving routine immunization in our district a very accurate head count of beneficiaries 0-2 years is needed, along with COVID-19 head count RI Micro plan has been initiated as there are many drops outs and left outs and refusal groups.
Deputy Commissioner, Wokha and chairman DTFI, Orenthung Lotha who chaired the meeting said that for the successful implementation of the immunization campaign all the stake holders, NGOs, all frontal organization, churches, village councils and public has to come forward and assist the District Task Force for successful conduct of the campaign.
