An Entrepreneurship and Skill Development program focusing on Banana Fibre Extraction and Handicrafts training commenced at the Town Council Hall in Phek Hq. on November 1, 2023. The program was jointly organized by Phek Police, Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC), and Phek Town Youth Society, with the aim of empowering educated youth in their quest for employment opportunities.
The training program was inaugurated by Dr. Pritpal Kaur, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Phek. In her inaugural address, she urged all the participants to prioritize hard work and seek livelihood through entrepreneurship rather than resorting to drugs or intoxication. Dr. Kaur emphasized that entrepreneurship can provide significant opportunities for educated youth and encouraged them to form teams with their friends to engage in joint business ventures. She highlighted that such efforts can contribute to a more peaceful society.
Nisevor Niphi, an Instructor from NTTC, provided insights into the importance of the program and explained the objectives of NTTC. A demonstration on Banana Fibre Extraction and Handicrafts making was conducted during the training session, allowing participants to gain practical knowledge.
Participants from all wards in Phek Town actively took part in the training session. The program was chaired by Seyiengoi Soho, President of the Phek Town Youth Society. An invocation prayer was offered by the Pastor of Police Baptist Church, Phek.
This initiative aims to equip educated youth with valuable skills in banana fiber extraction and handicrafts, enabling them to explore entrepreneurial opportunities and build a brighter future for themselves and their community.
