The Morung Scholarship Test (MST) Felicitations-cum-Pre-Christmas Celebrations 2025 was held at the auditorium of the National Institute of Technology and Innovation (NITI), near S.D. Jain Girls’ College, Marwari Patti, Dimapur, on 20 December 2025. The programme was organized by Team NITI to felicitate achievers of the Morung Scholarship Test and to mark the spirit of the pre-Christmas season.

Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Dr.  Tinojongshi Chang attended as the Chief Guest, while President of All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Bithungo Kikon graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, said that the programme was dedicated to students and aimed at motivating young minds to identify their goals at an early stage in life. He remarked that while students are often guided mainly by the school syllabus, real learning begins when they start discovering their interests and strengths beyond the classroom. Emphasising encouragement, he noted that motivation works both ways, as students also inspire elders and mentors.

Sharing experiences from exposure visits and interactions with students, Dr. Chang stressed the importance of early training, skill development, and exposure to modern fields such as science, technology, programming, and artificial intelligence. He said students should be encouraged to dream big and work confidently towards professions of their choice with discipline and focus. He further underlined the importance of positive attitude, goal setting, and clear direction in life, adding that institutions nurturing students at an early stage play a vital role in shaping the future. Concluding his address, he stated that investing in children is investing in the future and called for collective efforts from parents, teachers, schools, and society to nurture students.

Guest of Honour Bithungo Kikon congratulated the students and described the programme as a meaningful platform for self-evaluation. He said academic achievements mark only the beginning of a student’s journey and emphasized that sustained success depends more on consistent hard work than inspiration alone. He also urged parents to focus on building competence, confidence, and moral values in children, describing education as a long-term investment in shaping responsible individuals.

The programme was chaired by Sweta Giri. The event began with an invocation by Rev. Moses Murry, followed by a welcome address by Ajay Sethi, Managing Director, NITI. Morung Scholarship Test toppers were felicitated by the management in recognition of their academic excellence. Short speeches were delivered by MST toppers, parents and guardians, school principals, and invited guests, who highlighted the importance of quality education, discipline, and consistent effort among students.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Rishav Sethi, CEO, NITI, followed by cake cutting, gift exchange, and refreshments, marking the festive spirit of the pre-Christmas celebration.
