HEALTH CAMP HIGHLIGHTED AT LONGLENG DPDB MEETING

            The Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on 6th April 2021 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, M. Shayung Phom at DC’s Conference Hall.

            The DC briefed on the latest SOPs to contain and control the spread of Covid-19. The DC appealed to the members for strict implementation of social distancing, hand washing and compulsory use of face mask. The House decided to enforce strict compliance of Covid-19 SOPs within the town by the combine force of district administration and the Police by imposing fine to the defaulters.  In this regard, the DC urged the members to sensitize the people in their locality so that citizens can take self-responsibility to control the spread of the virus in the community. 

            The house also discussed for participation of Longleng district in the Dr. T. Ao Trophy. President, Longleng District Football Association, Patham highlighted on the ongoing coaching to the players and financial constraints of the association. He also thanked the officers for their cooperation and financial contribution in the previous years.

            CMO Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla gave a PowerPoint presentation on overview of ear and hearing. She informed that Charity Screening Camp for Ear and Hearing will be conducted in the district after completion of registration drive throughout April. She appealed to the members to disseminate the information and asserted that it was necessary to present PowerPoint presentation before the screening camp for awareness purpose. 

            She highlighted on various causes of hearing loss & deafness, the impact of unaddressed hearing loss, and early Identification & management. She further informed that registration can be done at CHC Centre Yachem and Tamlu, PHC centers at Yongnyah, Shakshi, Pongo and other health centers in the district. The camp will be conducted only after the registration is done as medical equipment and facilities would be prepared accordingly, she added.

            EE PHED, Longleng also spoke on the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and said that the mission was launched to provide safe & adequate drinking water through functional household tape connection (FHTC) to every rural household by 2024. He also informed on various committee formed at the state, district and block level for strict implementation of the mission.
