The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), in collaboration with the Labour Department, organized an insightful HIV/AIDS sensitization program for the workers of Green Ply Factory, Tizit. This crucial event took place on September 14, 2023, at Green Ply Factory, aiming to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and promote healthier lifestyles.

  Deputy Director (MS) of NSACS, Ainato Yeptho, who also served as the moderator, led the program. During the session, he enlightened the audience on the basics of HIV & AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). He emphasized the importance of getting tested, particularly for individuals with risk factors. Yeptho reassured everyone that individuals living with HIV can lead long and healthy lives with prescribed treatment and medicines.

Joint Director (IEC) at NSACS, Metevinuo Sakhrie, addressed the issue of stigma and discrimination associated with HIV & AIDS. She also discussed the HIV & AIDS (Prevention & Control) Act of 2017.

Assistant Director (Doc) at NSACS, Chongkoi Khaming, shed light on the significance of HIV testing, especially among pregnant mothers, emphasizing the importance of early detection and intervention.

Loshon Konyak, TB/HIV Supervisor, stressed the importance of timely screening for tuberculosis (TB) and its subsequent treatment.

SDO(c) of Tizit, Tumben P Tsanglao, NCS, delivered a motivational speech, encouraging attendees to be attentive and seize the opportunity to learn and protect themselves.

The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Chingkhap Konyak of the Labour Department.

The sensitization program concluded with voluntary HIV testing and TB screening, empowering participants with knowledge and access to crucial health services.
