100 days IEC campaign Under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) to provide functional tap connection to all schools and Anganwadi centres was held for Wokha block on 24th November 2020, for Chukitong and Wozhuro block on 25th Nov 2020 at Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) conference hall, Wokha. Earlier the same programs were conducted for Bhandari, Changpang and Ralan block.

In his keynote address Er.Imnazulu Ao, EE PHED Wokha highlighted on the aims and objectives of Jal Jeevan mission and the ongoing campaign, he assured the participants that the department will do everything possible to make JJM a success. He also urged the participants to work in unison to maintain the ODF Status and create a conducive environment for a healthy life, said while delivering the key note address to the participants of Wokha Block held at LEH conference hall, the program was chaired by Er.Chenithung Ezong, JE PHED Wokha.

Vimezo (S & H consultant, PHED Wokha spoke on healthy sanitary practices. He illustrated on the importance of Solid-liquid waste management ,the importance of maintaining sanitary toilet, keeping oneself and surroundings clean and to practice hand washing with soap which has become all the more important during this pandemic. He spoke on the role that anganwadi workers, teachers and Asha workers have to play in bringing behavioural change in children and to inculcate in them good sanitary practices.

Er.Aremo (Chemist, PHED Wokha) elaborated on the importance of safe drinking water, the different water contaminants and their ill effects, water- sanitation related diseases and the importance of water quality monitoring and surveillance. School teachers, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, WATSAN members, village council members etc from various villages attended the program. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Er. Zuchamo Kikon, JE PHED Wokha.
