In the backdrop of the 77th Independence Day, Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor of the Industries and Commerce department, hoisted the Tricolor at DDSC Stadium in Dimapur. She delivered the Independence Day speech.

The event also witnessed the inauguration of CCTV installations at Police Stations in Dimapur District, further enhancing security measures. Exhibition stalls set up by various government departments, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and Agricultural and Allied Departments showcased diverse initiatives and contributions.

The grand parade featured 11 contingents, led by parade commander Shinde Suresh Kailasrao, IPS (Probationer), Officer in-Charge of East Police Station Dimapur, and second-in-command Viketoulie (ABI Police Commissionerate Dimapur). Parade contingents included Police Commissionerate Dimapur, 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Battalion, Excise Directorate, Home Guard, Ex-Servicemen, NCC Dimapur, Government College, Government Higher Secondary School Purana Bazaar, Government High School Burma Camp, Greenwood Higher Secondary School Dimapur, NCC Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Dimapur, and 43 AR Band Platoon. All participants took a pledge for a drug-free Nagaland.

The celebrations were enriched with patriotic songs by GHS Lengrijan, Living Stone Foundation International, and Lorna Hr. Secondary School Dimapur. A patriotic dance was performed by Bethesda Hr. Secondary School Dimapur, and a cultural dance was presented by Vungi Nzanta Cultural Club, Diphuphar. The day concluded with a retreat ceremony by 43rd Assam Rifles.
